Workshop schedule:
• Friday afternoon the workshop is open from 1pm until 8pm for those wanting an early start.
• Saturday morning the workshop opens at 7am. We ask that students are ready to start by 8 am. We start the day by setting up the jig and tacking the tubes into place. The next step is shaping the lugs where your bamboo tubes meet. After lunch, you’ll wrap your tubes together with fibers and resin. Expect at least a twelve hour day. The shop closes at midnight.
• Sunday morning the workshop opens at 8 am. We ask that students making a fully assembled bike are ready to start by 8 am. For those building a frame only, please arrive by 10am. We start the day by removing your frame from the jig, and you’ll then file down your lugs to a smooth finish. After applying a final coat, you’ll either walk away with your frame, or learn how to install and maintain all of your components before riding away on your bike. Expect to work at least ten hours for a full bike, and six hours for a frame. The shop closes at 11pm.
Sign up for a workshop by putting down a deposit of $350.00.
Weekday workshops are available upon request. Please contact Bamboo Bike Studio Toronto directly for scheduling.
